dcol 165
Would like to see the ability to set up scheduled recordings for the same show at same time on different channels. I have three IPTV providers and I would like to schedule recordings for the same show on all three. I want this for backup since some IPTV providers are not always reliable. I do it now, but have to use three Emby servers to achieve it.
pir8radio 1292
I am still curious why this doesnt work for you today.. If you have 3 iptv providers, you see 3 separate of the same channels listed in the EPG right? and you are saying if you do a series recording of SHOW1 on all three channels making sure the channel is not set to ANY and you UNCHECK "do not record episodes that are already in my library" that you do not get multiple recordings of the same show from the different providers?

dcol 165
I will test and see. If this works, it's new.
dcol 165
It does work, sort of. It recorded 5 of the same show and I only have two listed in the guide and two of them did Post Processing. Not sure how it picked up five shows from two providers. All five have different times the videos lasted. Two @ 2-3 minutes and three @ 15-16 minutes. Check out the log. The show was 'Meet the Press' on MSNBC Weird. I would just PM your log to luke or someone, it contains your server info and probably your IPTV login info (i didnt look to hard) but the errors i saw looked like your IPTV provider killing the stream? Do you have the tuners setup with limits on how many streams you are allowed?
dcol 165
I won't post logs publicly anymore. Limits are setup in xTeVe. Any indication why it did the extra recording

pir8radio 1292
I won't know until next week when the show airs again but in that log, it should have been airing on two different channels right? two providers providing similar channel lineups... dcol 165
I will be monitoring the log on the next occurrence which is Monday. When I arbitrarily picked a random show it really messed up recording multiple times for each recording. I would rather test on the actual show I will be recording for a real test. dcol 165
Tried last two days and only one recording is taking place even though I have the series set to record any channel, keep as many as possible, and unchecked 'Don't record shows already in library. This does not work as others have claimed. You can not schedule same show at same time and have it pick up all the channels with the same show. At least not the shows I have scheduled to record. You can do it manually but not from the schedule. Only one show has the 'red dot', the others are black dots. Luke 36998
They must have the same show id so it is probably just avoiding the duplicates.
dcol 165
They must have the same show id so it is probably just avoiding the duplicates. But shouldn't 'Don't record episodes already in the library' being unchecked handle that? If not, that restriction needs to be removed or made an option like 'Record Duplicates'. The shows are daily news shows that I want to capture and watch later. They do not have episode numbers, as far as I know. And the reason for recording on multiple channels is because far too often one channel has an issue. Is there any way around this? Luke 36998
But shouldn't 'Don't record episodes already in the library' being unchecked handle that? No, because it's not in your library yet. It's something you don't have and let's say there's three airings of the exact same episode, I don't know if it makes sense to schedule all three. But I suppose we could just let the same setting control that, and let people make their own mess.

You are not considering the unreliable nature of streaming IPTV provider services. I have to use 3 Emby servers now because of this and doing so has saved my recordings more than I can remember. There is not one of us that hasn't experienced a 'bad recording' on an IPTV stream. This is why I want this feature. So I don't have to use 3 Emby servers anymore for just a few shows. Right now I cannot do it on one server.
