Emby requires a "dedicated" computer to run the server on.  This can be a tower, desktop or a laptop.  If you leave the computer running 24x7 with Emby on it then you will be able to access your system 24x7.

If you install Emby Server on a laptop that you take out of the house then you are taking your Emby Server with you and most likely, no one in your home would be able to use the system (unless you reset it up on another network).

So realistically you want to install Emby on a computer in your home network that is always on and available.

You can have movies and TV Shows on internal drives, external drives, network drives or thumb drives.  Doesn't really matter the type of drive as long as you setup Emby to be able to access the files.

Does that help to answer your questions?

What type of subtitle is it?

Does it work properly if you cast from the web interface on a computer instead of using the iPhone?
