Audio and black screen on Samsung Galaxy tablet

I'm running emby v4.3.1.0 on elementary OS Hera (based on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, Linux 4.15.0-74-generic). The playback works with no issues on my cel (Xiaomi A2) but on my (somewhat old) Samsung Galaxy Tab (SM-T530NU; Android v5.0.2) I get audio with a black screen.

 

I can use an external player like VLC, but I lose the ability to move back/forward, and also emby does not remember where I left off.

 

Is there a fix for this or is this tablet simply too old?

Hi, what are you trying to play? Do you have a basic mp4 with h264 video you can try to see how that compares?

Hi, I tested with a video with the specifications shown below and I get the same output: audio and a black screen. I also tried the video found here: http://www.html5videoplayer.net/html5video/mp4-h-264-video-test/ and got the same results.

Ok so apparently I already was on the beta version (sorry for not mentioning it earlier, I did not remember entering the beta program)

 

So I went back to the non-beta version and I got the same results: audio and a black screen.

 

By mistake, before going back to the non-beta version, I tried the TV app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.emby.embyatv) and that one does work! The downside is that it has no way of controlling the video when tapping the screen.
