Squee 5
Hi all, I have got some problems with the playback of certain files (e.g Friends - S01E18 - The One with All the Poker.mp4): Every 20 to 30 sek the picture freezes/audio stops for a few seconds before it resumes - it looks like some sort of buffering. I use a Raspberry Pi4 with LibreELEC 9.2.0/Kodi 18.5 and the Embycon Add-on as client. Emby server is on a QNAP-NAS (Tvs-672n, Core I3). I checked the local network with iperf3 and get constantly values above 100 Mbit/s. So this shoudn‘t be the issue. Interestingly, if I play the very same file directly through Kodi (via NFS and not via the Embycon add-on) everything plays smoothly. I was hoping that one of the more experienced user could have a look at the attached log file and help me to solve the problem. (The problem occured approximately at 9:47pm). In the end, I would like to use the embycon addon (because it nicely synchronizes all the watch status, etc.). But also avoid transcoding, if possible. (I like to switch audio languages quite often during playback. Unfortunately, when transcoding using the embycon plugin you cannot quickly change languages but have to restart the transcoding with a different language). Squee 5
Hi Luke, No. It's from within my local network (all Ethernet, no WLAN). Kind regards, Martin
Luke 36997
Have you tried lowering the in-app quality setting? Usually reducing the bitrate will resolve stuttering and pausing.
Squee 5
Yes I tried lowering the in-App quality. And indeed there is no stuttering than. But as I mentioned I would like to avoid transcoding, if possible. (I like to switch audio languages quite often during playback. And with the embycon plugin you cannot quickly change languages but have to restart the transcoding with a different language). So I am trying to figure out why the file plays smoothly when played directly through Kodi (via NFS and not via the Embycon add-on) and why it stutters when using the plugin. kind regards, Squee
