Hi. Installed Emby server docker app on Unraid. I have the processor that is capable of 10-bit hevc transcoding. My cpu works at 100% though during streaming from kodi.

I have emby set at advanced in settings/ transcoding. I can see vaapi on h264, h265.

Any suggestions?

I am using Unraid.  I assume I should be looking for Intel Quicksync.  Since it's not available as an option, I'm using Vaapi

Checked for updates in apps page on my Unraid, it shows my container is up to date.  Though in Emby settings, it does show there's a newer version available.  I'm afraid to upgrade the emby server for fear it may break the whole emby docker container.

Hi Jang430,

Even though Kaby Lake cpus supports h265 decoding, I think you're asking too much of a dual core CPU to run unraid, whatever other plugins/dockers you have, as well as decode and stream h265 content.

Have you looked at getting a dedicated nVidia card and using the nVidia Unraid Plugin? It works really well and frees up your cpu to take care of the rest of the unraid tasks.

Here's a link to the nvidia matrix that shows what cards support h265 decoding: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix
