yarez0 22
Hi guys, Today every users can register any devices without any restriction by default, if you restrict user's devices he can't register any new device, this is very complicated to manage if you wants restrictions. Without restrictions, a user can push averything he wants to any other user's devices via the DOWNLOAD TO button. see https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/81460-user-can-download-to-every-devices/ my suggestion is : only admins can push everything to any devices (I transcode and push kids movies to my ipad from my laptop or iphone for children offline watch) restrict DOWNLOAD TO fonly for current user's devices thanks

pinkfamily7 2
Thanks, I was coming here today to say this same thing... Are the iOS and android apps the only official ways to watch content "offline" still? I have done it via Emby Theater (Microsoft Store App) and when I had another user do it from there, the content seems to just go to a device named "Windows". It doesn't matter who starts the download/conversion process, there is only one "Windows" device even though we are both connected via Emby Theater. Luke 36887
Those two and also the windows store app.
seanbuff 837
The point @@pinkfamily7 is making is that, it doesn't matter how many Emby Theater (store app) clients are connected, across various users. When you download, there is no differentiation of device name, they are all named 'Windows' - which can become confusing for users and administration. They need to somehow be uniquely identifiable. Luke 36887
I see what you mean. We'll take a look. Thanks.
pinkfamily7 2
Correct. I'm not sure if the content gets delivered to the client that requested it, or just the client that most recently connected. I de-authorized MY windows store app to make sure it went to the correct user, as he'll be travelling.
