osborni 1
Giving Emby a try again. Server is a headless machine running Ubuntu 18.04.03 LTS Emby is latest Movie and Music files are on a separate NAS with drives mapped with in CIFS to their own folder structure. Home/user/Movies.... Home/user/Music... The music library integration worked fine with no problems and works as expected. The movie library won't update though. Both have the same permissions. One works, one doesn't. I tried to map in one movie folder into a new library and that didn't work either. Ideas?
Luke 37007
HI there, what exactly do you mean by "won't update"?
osborni 1
i setup a movie library and mapped in the master folder for all the movies. But nothing shows up when I "scan library files". I setup a music library as well, same setup (except music) and it scanned the library files and they appear in the catalog. I also setup a "TV Shows", again mapped in from the same NAS, worked fine. I tried to setup a Movie library one movie in it, still didn't work. Most movies are .mkv and some are .mp4. Luke 37007
Did you check the permissions of your movie folders recursively, to make sure the emby system user has read permissions? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32218-file-permissions-guide-for-new-linux-users/
gr33ndeath 0
I have the exact same problem. Running emby 4.3.1.0 on Ubuntu 18.04.3 My TV-Shows are "imported" as expected, but the Movies are not. Same as osborni most of my movie files are in .mkv format I checked the permissions, there is no problem wit that. Also, I tried to add a library with Content: TV Shows but added my movie folders. My movies then get listed. Therefore, I assume there is a problem with the scrapper and the content type. But I found nothing suspicious in the logs.. Luke 37007
As a test, if you go to the live tv config section, hit the + button to add a tuner device, select m3u. It has a file browser. If you use this file browser, are you able to navigate to that directory and see the video files?
