dm9656 1
Hi, I have Emby 4.3.1.3 running on Freenas/FreeBSD 11.2 U7. Emby DLNA server is not detected by my Sony cmt-mx-700-ni (small hifi with network & DLNA client feature). On the other hand the Sony appliance can detect and use a very simple XUPNPD server (http://xupnpd.org/) on my router (running on OpenWRT). Also the Emby DLNA server does however work fine with a Win 10 PC with Foobar2000 (the xupnpd is also useable with Foobar). Therefore, the Emby DLNA is working but somehting makes it not detectable by the Sony appliance. I think about installing and trying another DLNA server as a workaround (readymedia-transcode, serviio, gerbera...), however things would be much simplier if Emby was just "normally" detectable and useable. How could we go further from here to resolve this issue ? Thanks David
Luke 37008
Hi, what you could do is try restarting Emby Server with the Sony dlna menu open and see if that helps.
dm9656 1
Hi, no luck, I did restart while the hifi system is (visibly) polling for upnp servers but nothing changed. As there are no crashes involved, I haven't got much further information. The only information I have is that xupnpd works straight out of the box. It is rather simple, so looking at how it annouces itself might provide some hints. Btw minidlna works too. I'm going to also try out gerbera (mediatomb spin off) and see how it behaves. If it works too maybe there will be some hints from those dlna apps so that "emby does the same" to be most compatible with all kinds of equipment.
