Michaeldjcox 1
Hi, Moving from SageTV on windows to Emby on QNAP NAS and so far loving it. One little niggle I cannot get around. Those pesky extended editions of LOTR in two parts. I feel I have followed all the naming conventions but cannot get Emby to play anything but the first part. Other posts on this topic seem to involve .mkv files and joining them. Should this this multi-part naming work? Am I doing something wrong here? I'm using 4.3.1.0 Michael ============== Z:\>dir "The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring" Volume in drive Z is Multimedia Volume Serial Number is D349-A9CA Directory of Z:\The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring 04/01/2020 21:02 <DIR> . 04/01/2020 21:03 <DIR> .. 04/01/2020 20:57 219,745 fanart.jpg 04/01/2020 20:57 216,949 logo.png 04/01/2020 20:57 1,292,975 poster.jpg 25/01/2018 21:16 3,284,407,041 The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring-pt1.mp4 25/01/2018 21:19 3,804,270,416 The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring-pt2.mp4 5 File(s) 7,090,407,126 bytes 2 Dir(s) 5,738,513,596,416 bytes free Edited January 4, 2020 by Michaeldjcox
PenkethBoy 2063
Yes joining the files would be best - dont have to be a MKV could still be a single mp4 IIRC with files stacking/multi part - you have to pick the second file from a drop down - might be wrong as its been a long time since i tried it
Luke 36879
In the web app you have to manually select the second part after the first one ends. Our other apps either behave similarly or haven't implemented it yet. We'll get there, but for the best experience possible I would suggest joining the files.
