Two big features were added in this beta - well "big" in terms of the effort and complexity involved with them.  Personally, they are features I will probably never use but they are long standing omissions from the app.  This means that I'll need y'all's extra help in banging on them since I won't be testing them in the normal course of my usage (of course, I have done basic tests during development).

1) Edit subtitles - you can now delete and/or search for and download external subs from within the app. Available from context menu (long-press or "menu" button) and on "..." menu on detail screen.

2) More filtering - this is only in the movie and TV grids right now and doesn't contain everything it eventually will but I needed to stop somewhere and get a beta out.

Thanks for testing.

Can't speak for Google but my FTVS already has .68

I have the update now, but I had to go into the Play Store on my Shield and open and close the Emby app details page a few times, before I got the UPDATE option.

It just didn't show as an update any other way.

The filtering looks good from what I've had a play with.

Haven't played around with the subtitles though, but if the server can't find them in the first place, I can't see how the app will force the server to find them.

I obviously have no clue how to use this new enhancement for editing or finding new subtitles. I click Aldi search icon, but it says nothing found.

When scrolling through a long album or playlist is it possible to have the track with focus be centered on the screen once it reaches the middle and remain centered until you reach the top/bottom of the tracklist.

Sort of like you do with posters and thumbs on the Home page, except this would be vertical of course

Reason being with a large TV it's easier to see the track with focus if it's in the middle of the screen instead of keeping your neck bent to look all the way at the top/bottom the entire time while scrolling through numerous tracks.

Have you configured a subtitle provider on your server?

It won't be any different but the option to search for and download them has never been in this app before.  You had to go pickup your phone and use the web app if you needed to look for subs.  Now you can do it right in the app.

Notice, you can select multiple filters of a given category (e.g. ABC and Netflix studios) as well.

Yes I did.

Can't filter on actors as yet though.

Hi there, have you explored the options for each library in Emby library setup?

Searching for subtitles directly from the video is working great for me now............ AWESOME!!

I have to use subs and closed captions, but to download the external subs, I had to go into Kodi or the computer and download them (and rename them).  Now I can do it right from the move I want to watch while using the Android TV Emby app, and it works perfectly.   As an added bonus, sometimes it takes a few downloads to match the video and not be out of sync, now I can delete those external subs that don't work correctly, right from this same sub edit.

I have a BlueRay rip of 2016 The Magnificent Seven with embedded subs.  This causes transcoding.  Now I can download an external sub (srt) directly from that movie and no more transcoding, downloads that sub FAST, so no waiting to watch that video........... perfect, absolutely perfectly.

Yes I did.

Can't filter on actors as yet though.

That is done by clicking on an actor or searching for an actor and then clicking on them. This is the same in the entire system.

Putting actors in the filters the way these are done is simply not practical because there are too many of them (You'd have a drop down list with 50,000 items in it).
