Redshirt 1487
Requires Android OS 4.0 The Android client is available for download here. Current Version: Beta 15.6 You'll need to side load it onto your device. It will be available on the Play Store after the beta process. Also, the screens are mostly optimized for my Nexus 7, we'll need to work together to clean up views on devices that are different densities/sizes. Report any issues here, or in this thread Beta 1 - Initial release Beta 1a - Fix homescreen scroll crash (hopefully) - Hide logo on server/user selection Beta 2 - Fix app stalling when connecting/logging in - Remote Play/Browse popup tweaks - Stay signed in fix - Fix user avatar button crash Beta 3 - Hopefully final fix for app loading - New Library tiles - Ability to change homescreen collection image & hide text - App now responds to remote play/browse commands Beta 4 - Fix Malformed library tiles - Fix User Avatar click in details view - Additional logging Beta 5 - Fix large library loading - Remove deprecated enum values. Beta 6 - Fix navigating into boxsets - Remove legacy webm support - Fix crash when backdrops enabled - Filter watched items out of New Items tab - Fix Series view landscape on phones Beta 7 - Dowload library contents incrementally. Should work wonders for large libraries - Migrated Artist view to current theme. - Some logging around watched/unwatched overlays & series view - Stop cellular bitrate being used for ethernet connected devices - Primary image will now show on library tiles if no backdrop exists. - Misc internal changes Beta 8 - Fix series overview being blank - Several tweaks to caching - Only show public users (manual login to follow later) - Add ability to select default tab on the homescreen - Initial progress on visualizer when music is playing - First attempt at Aspect Ratio correction - Misc tweaks Beta 9 - Further improvements to library scrolling speed - Show backdrops in series view if no thumbs exist - Re-added favorites tab to homescreen - Fix auto-connecting to last connected server - Fix remember pin not working - No longer try to play offline content - Various stability related tweaks/fixes Beta 10 - Allow selection of posters or backdrops in library views - Fix cellular playback using local bitrate value - Revamp photo details page - Added ability to favorite/unfavorite Series, Books, Artists, Albums - Fix playback crash when no runtime available - Added support for Books (Requires server plugin) - Other minor tweaks Beta 11 - Play-All / Shuffle Support... Booya!!! - Multi-Episode support - Remote playback control of other clients - Theme music support for series - Focus enhancements for users with mini-pc's and remotes - Set played/unplayed from most views - Tweaks to poster views and other layouts Beta 12 - Filtering/sorting menu added (genre filtering to be enabled next beta) - Fixes to remote-play - Fixes/ Improvements to advanced play - Greater range in available bitrates - Resolve out-of-memory errors (photo's were the worst offenders) - Various UI tweaks - External Player support - Finally added license/ version info to settings (not very exciting) Beta 13 - Initial attempts at direct play & stream copy. CBers 6768
Hi Redshirt. I'm seeing an issue when playing videos whereby the full width of the screen is not used internally but is when played externally (VLC). Internal: External: This occurs on both my phone (Nexus 4) and tablet (Nexus 10). TIA. Edited October 10, 2013 by CBers

CBers 6768
CBers, is that Fast 5? What format is it? Fast and Furious 6 (mkv). Taken from Dashboard: Video:h264 • eng • 1916 • 812 • 479:203 • 4992 kbps • 23.976 • Default Audio:aac • eng • 4992 kbps • 2 ch • 48000 khz • Default is this with all video files or specific one? Seems to be all videos - I've tested with 6 or 7 so far.
sfnetwork 514
I don't have this issue (tested from two different devices (Nexus 7 2013 and Note). Is is direct streaming, transcoding or copy streaming the video? Edited October 10, 2013 by sfnetwork
CBers 6768
Interesting that your Audio is transcoded but video not, and mine is the opposite way round even though they look like they have the same properties: Do you have HLS disabled on your Nexus ?? sfnetwork 514
can you change the video quality setting to higher to force direct stream? (just for testing purposes) More than 5 mb/s should do it for this video. "Audio:aac • eng • 4992 kbps • 2 ch • 48000 khz • Default" Is this a "WEB-DL" or other kind of "pre" release format? It's weird that it copy streams the audio but not video... can you also test a MP4? Edited October 10, 2013 by sfnetwork

In my case, it's normal Video direct (no need to transcode) Audio; transcode (5.1 track) In your case, it should direct both (if your quality setting are high enough) BTW, good point; I don't use HLS. CBers 6768
Is the VQ what changes it ?? My Nexus 10 has this streamcopy for both - I will check the VQ settings.
sfnetwork 514
try disabling HLS... It's weird that it copy streams both on your last screen... It should have direct stream when it can copy stream both... Edited October 10, 2013 by sfnetwork

CBers 6768
I have set both phone and tablet to 7.0Mbps and have HLS enabled: Nexus 4: Nexus 10:
Redshirt 1487
Luke's right. I can only directstream if the H264/AAC content is in an MP4 container. Otherwise I streamcopy into a .ts HLS stream. Likewise. If I come across vpx/vorbis content, I can only directstream if the container is mkv, otherwise I streamcopy to a webm container. I only have MKVs with 5.1 audio or MP4 so I never had this situation to test with....

I've seen this non-fullscreen issue once or twice when I scale a video up from a resolution that's smaller than the device screen. Old 4:3 tv shows would be an example.
