MBSki 1009
I'm trying to access my Emby Server to listen to music through my Denon receiver, but it doesn't show up as an available server. I have 4 other servers that work fine: Plex, Serviio, PlayOn, and SiloconDust. The only time Emby appears is if I restart the server. I've got blast alive messages enabled. Is there anything else that can be done to fix this issue? Seems odd that all my other servers work fine. Thanks, Mike
Happy2Play 8239
It has been reported before of Emby not playing well with others since port 1900 is used by all DLNA server. If you shut off all the other servers does Emby DLNA work?
MBSki 1009
No, that didn't make a difference. I stopped everything, and Emby still didn't show up.
Luke 36999
Have you checked windows firewall to see if any rules might be blocking the traffic for Emby Server?
MBSki 1009
Yes, I looked at the firewall and saw 3 Emby servers. I allowed all 3 on private and public.
MBSki 1009
Luke, I've been looking at this today, but have no idea what to do next. I grabbed some logs though. Is there anything in the logs that provide an idea of what the problem is? Appreciate your help on this. In the past few days that I've been testing out Emby, I'm really impressed. This is the only thing keeping me from premiere at the moment so I really hope we can get this figured out.
Luke 36999
Please try adding a rule in windows firewall allowing udp port 1900 for emby server and see if that helps. Thanks.
MBSki 1009
Added inbound and outbound for UDP 1900, but no luck. What's next?
Luke 36999
Did you try restarting Emby Server after that?
MBSki 1009
Didn't specifically restart Emby, but restarted the entire server instead.

MBSki 1009
3 years. Relatively new, and all the other servers I've got installed work fine.
Luke 36999
Can you attach the emby server log in case we might be able to spot something obvious there? Thanks.
MBSki 1009
Sorry, thought I did that before. Here it is. Edited December 16, 2019 by mbarylski

MBSki 1009
Here's another log file with DLNA debug turned on. I was looking at my router and attempting to adjust some configurations, but nothing worked. I've got UPnP enabled on the router, and it's picked up the local and public TCP port numbers for Emby. I don't see anywhere to input UDP 1900, and automatic port mapping appears to be working because I can access Emby remotely. Not sure what else to try. embyserver.txt
MBSki 1009
I got an email at 1 AM asking about checking windows firewall. Not sure why that message isn't showing in this thread, but yes, i checked windows firewall. I added the inbound/outbound rule for UDP 1900 in windows firewall, but I was also looking in my router to see if there was something missing in the router. There doesn't appear to be anything missing in the router, but I just don't see UDP 1900 enabled anywhere. The router doesn't have an active firewall though, so that shouldn't be an issue. Anything in the logs that point to what's wrong? Also, I tested an install on a Surface Pro with no other media servers installed. Everything works fine on that install, which leads me to wonder if it's an issue with the Emby install. Maybe Emby doesn't install/configure DLNA properly if there are other DLNA servers installed already. Is there any way to find out if there's a configuration that didn't fully complete during install? Edited December 16, 2019 by mbarylski
Luke 36999
Also, I tested an install on a Surface Pro with no other media servers installed. You mean you tested with Emby Server installed on the Surface Pro?
MBSki 1009
Yes, exactly. With zero other media servers DLNA works fine. My theory is that nothing was interfering with the install so Emby was able to configure correctly. Where as on my actual server, Serviio and PlayOn were installed and DLNA was active when I installed Emby. Because Serviio and PlayOn were installed, it blocked certain Emby configurations. Any chance that's a the potential root cause? If so, I still need to figure out what did NOT get configured correctly.
Luke 36999
It sounds to me like something is just blocking the traffic. If you have any other security software installed you might want to review that. You should also double check windows firewall to make sure a blocking rule didn't get added. MBSki 1009
I only have Windows Defender and nothing else. Why would only Emby get blocked? Do you think a firewall rule got added when I did the install? That seems strange. I know when I first installed and I got the pop up for "allow on public or private networks" I only checked Private. Even mobile access didn't work at first because of that, but I've changed all emby server references in firewall to allow on domain, public, and private. There are now 6 emby servers in firewall. What should I be looking for now? Other than Emby, what else am I supposed to search for?
Luke 36999
Why would only Emby get blocked? Don't know but I've seen it reported before so it's worth checking.
Luke 36999
Look for rules in windows firewall with the stop icon indicating that it's not allowed.
MBSki 1009
I turned the firewalls off completly, restarted Emby, and still no luck. Can't be the firewall if I turned everything off right? I'm getting pretty close to just trying to redo the install. Any chance you can temporarily give me the backup/restore functionality from premiere? I spent a lot of time adding libraries and configuring and don't want to spend the time doing that again just for a test that may or may not work.
