pleaseremove 0
Hi Guys I have a live TV setup with a homerunHD. All working really well etc. It is recording into my TV and Movies folders as needed and creating the season structure as required too. All perfect.I have seen some performance issues on some of the clients when playing back something that is currently recording. My theory is this is due to poor random read and write from the library as that is stored on a NAS. I would like to have the emby server (ubuntu) store currently recording things onto itself (and its much faster SSD's) then when it is finished, move it into the library. I can see I could just set the live TV to go somewhere local and run a copy script after it has finished, but am unsure how to get this to preserve the name and structure. I also think if I set it to record somewhere else these will show up as separate libraries, or worse, something recording won't show up at all until it has finished?I keep seeing mentions of an auto organise feature, but not seeing this in my install and it looks like it might not be there any more? Thanks for any help Craig Edit: Forgot to say, mostly just looking for advice in how to set this up, assuming it is possible. So close to getting my ideal setup, just needs this last bit. Thanks Edited December 9, 2019 by pleaseremove
legallink 187
Have you tried the "auto organize" feature? It should do exactly this I see you talk about it, but it is in it's own menu item under "Advanced" in the Admin Dashboard. This shows up on mine right under Metadata Manager. Luke 37052
@@pleaseremove, have you tried configuring the DVR recording path to correspond to your TV library?
pleaseremove 0
Hi GuysSorry for the slow reply. @@Luke yes, that works perfectly and very well. The issue I had was the library location was on the NAS and I didn't like it chewing up a massive RAID6 array when recording and would rather have it record somewhere separately. Plus I found when recording and playing back the same recording at the same time that performance for things like scrubbing forward was not amazing. I actually run Emby on a VM server with SSD's so I wanted to record to those and then move it afterwards.@legal link It took me a while to realize that was a plugin and not just built in (aka, it wasn't on my menu). I did try but seem to be failing to get it to work. Not sure why.I have ended up keeping the separate recording location and have written a move script that is called when the recording is complete. I am not quite ready to share that but will do when it is finished. It gets quite complicated when you can imagine a scenario where you might have more than recording against the same series at the same time or you might have someone watching the file even though the recording has just finished. I have the move part working safely. I have a few more edge cases to deal with yet though. Thanks guys Craig
