weredacords 0
So I am trying to get Emby to use a secured connection. I am running Windows 10. I used this tutorial and didn't have any issues. But for some reason, I cannot connect to the server with SSL enabled. If I turn off secured connections required, works flawlessly. I have tried everything I can think of to get it running. Just to make sure, I installed NGINX and got a SSL certificate using the same method and outside traffic can connect securely with no issue. I am really bashing my head over this. Any help would be appreciated.
Luke 37060
Hi there, what kind of SSL cert are you using?
weredacords 0
I have tried using DNS verified SSL certificates from both zerossl and sslforfree. They output crt and key files that are then converted using sslshopper from PEM to PFX/PKCS#
Luke 37060
Ok then that sounds like the certificates are not being trusted by the client devices or browsers.
weredacords 0
I used the same type of certificates and ran it on NGINX on the same server and the same test browser connected without issue.
Solution weredacords 0 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Solution Share Posted December 9, 2019 Well, I finally figured it out. The local https port was not the same as the public https port. So if anyone else goes crazy trying to figure that out, change the local https port to 443 as well.
