Loading live TV with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio on either of my Samsung TVs. Outputs a single frame of video but never plays, not sure what I'm missing. From my Windows 10 machine over Emby Web were it does load, the audio track defaults to narration, despite defaults for English language being set in Emby and even EXTINF metadata to do so too. mev 5
I have had the same issue myself with a brand new Telestar Digibit R1 box However, I may have a potential solution for you - I am currently testing my own solution here which so far, so good. I will know more in about 2hrs. Can you add a sample of your M3U file (feel free to change the Ip etc if public facing) Sorry i just realised its your M3U at the top of the page - I will respond later Edited June 12, 2020 by mev misread
mev 5
@kevinf63 To fix the audio NAR (Narrated issue) you need to modify the M3U file generated by the Digibit Open the M3U using something like Notepad ++ and start with any of the URL's - This example I am working with is Channel 4 http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/?freq=11127&src=aa&pol=v&msys=dvbs&sr=22000&fec=56&sid=21200&pmt=259&pids=0,2305,2307,259 Open up VLC and go to Media > Open Network Stream - Paste in the URL in full and press play Once its playing - go to Tools > Codec information (You will see a screen like this) The stream which is playing is stream 1 (ID 2307) by default Looking at the URL again we pay attention to the last part of the URL (PIDS) - http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/?freq=11127&src=aa&pol=v&msys=dvbs&sr=22000&fec=56&sid=21200&pmt=259&pids=0,2305,2307,259 Stream 2037 is your narrated audio (NAR) - however you want stream 4 in this case (English) which is ID 2306 Alter your URL as follows http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/?freq=11127&src=aa&pol=v&msys=dvbs&sr=22000&fec=56&sid=21200&pmt=259&pids=1,2305,2306,259 We change the first bit from 0 to 1 (otherwise the default will still be NAR Stream 1 but you will not hear anything because the receiver is playing stream 4) We also change 2307 to 2306 to select stream 4 (English) Once you test this, you will see there is no NAR audio and you are getting the correct English audio. The unfortunate thing about this is ultimately you will need to create your M3U list, then edit them all manually and then host your new M3U list somewhere for Emby to read. You can read up more on the SAT>IP protocol here - http://www.satip.info/sites/satip/files/resource/satip_specification_version_1_2_2.pdf I hope this helps with your issue with audio. P.S. if you are using the Digibit R1 I would recommend you use it in unicast mode if using it with Emby. (While I am on this subject, had anyone reading this made or put together a transponder list for Freesat?)
