Files Missing

So this is a bit of a strange one and just asking if anyone has encountered similar or knows what could be causing the issue...

Recently i have been going through and updating older movie files such as avi and replacing with mp4 by no means its no easy feat with over 6000 movies from years of running EMBY right back to when she was just a wee MB :) Over the course of this process several times i have gone to replace a movie that's not there, i was pretty sure i had said film at one stage but it's gone so just added it and put it down to me losing my mind, i mean its a lot of movies, and a lot of yrs on me and the server lol Anyway after encountering several like this i vaguely remembered something being posted about files vanishing in an older update that may have gone rogue before luke and co fixed it but cannot find the post so just put it down to that and let it go.

Now we cut to yesterday and my sister tells me off for not having Bates Motel lol and i told her it is there open your eyes haha but apparently it is not :/ foolish me, now this one bothered me as i distinctly remember adding all seasons a few months back as there was a discussion with a friend who asked me to get it so it's fresh in memory, this is probably the 3rd time i have encountered the issue with a series but the first i can 100% without doubt say something is not right.

The only access to my server is family and friends of which there are 27, i have double checked their settings to make sure they do not have the option to delete and contacted each individually to make sure they cannot and have not deleted anything.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Is there more info i could provide?

I would have posted logs but this has happened over an extended period of time and not sure they will help, but happy to do whatever i can to get to the bottom of this.

Hi, we can look at the server logs to see if you or one of your users deleted the series folder.

Attached to the original post @@Luke if not the right one let me know, i tried to attach a rar file of everything in logs folder but it wouldn't let me

Did you try searching them for http delete

I will do this now and report back

@@Luke 4 references found, 2 in the posted file referring to logo deletes, which i recall doing and 2 in a file from 48hrs ago referencing active encoding being deleted, nothing else. Unfortunately i don't think the logs go back far enough for this issue and i may just have to keep an eye out. Is there anywhere old logs are stored or if not a way to keep them longer? I only have 3 files in the folder, one for each day since the 5th (7th today in AUS) Oh and there are a heap for transcoding and direct stream of course, didn't think they were affiliated with this issue though, am i wrong on that?

Ok there's no evidence in this log of anything being deleted by emby server. What I would suggest is going through all the log files in your logs folder before the server automatically deletes them.

Also search them for anything related to Bates Motel. The movie folder could have been deleted outside of Emby, and then the regular emby library scan would realize that and log it.

I will keep an eye on it @@Luke, i have noted collection counts for each library and will monitor daily so if there is an issue i can grab the logs immediately and report back.
