Adding DVD and Bluerays but preserving the menus

Have started to add DVD's and Bluerays into my Emby library.

I understand that for the best compatibility I should rip them into .mkv and for a few basic movies I have done just that.

The problem is for some of my box sets (for instance the Series DVD's for Red Dwarf) there are great animated menus with easter eggs etc that would be lost if just ripping the video files. I.e it would be great to have an authentic archive of the complete disk for some features.

I know that emby supports dvd folders .ts etc but what is the best piece of software to use to create those from DVD and Blueray (preferably free)?

Would these copies still be able to be streamed to other devices like a roku through the emby server transcoding?

Hi, this support is only expiremental so I would not suggest doing this for your entire library. For best results I would convert them to mkv files.
