I have a similar issue... Some movies play at Dolby atmos... some pass as Dolby + dolby surround...

I have no idea why some movies play via direct play (atmos) and some don´t. (dolby 5.1 to 7.1 emulated)

A "force" direct play would be awesome!

Hi.  An option is not necessary for TrueHD.  If your system will support it, the app will pass it.  Can we please look at an example of the issue you are having?

Ok, so when you say system are we talking about the device that the client runs on or downstream connected devices of any combination there of?  I will have to look though the logs to see how my devices are presenting them selves to Emby server, How does emby client decide to decode or pass the audio?  source media is presented to the client as atmos/TrueHD.  is there an option to look at logs from the emby client? also what player does emby for android tv use?

Hi, audio settings on the client device will often influence this.  This could be audio settings in the operating system as well as in the Emby app.

I think the Shield is the only device that is going to support TrueHD passthru...

And, the answer is the entire chain of devices need to support it (and report that properly).
