Okay.. technical question.

I had 4 HDD's in DrivePool. The OS SSD is toast. How to recover? Can I just install DrivePool on the new m.2 and rebuild from there?

Good suggestion..

I may not get a card just yet as I only have 4 HDD's to install right now in this case. The rest of my drives were an assortment of SSD's of various makes and sizes that I used for the boot drive and then others for Emby Data, Transcoding, Recordings and then finally Archives of MCEBuddy conversions.

Now, with 1TB on the m.2 card I don't need all of these any longer. I will need to hook them up momentarily to get the data and recordings off them then I'm done with them.

Eventually I will be able to add more drives to my case.

In a lot of cases, yes. But there are some listed as new that are in IT mode. I have three of them. I may buy a few more.

It says it's an HBA, so it should be ok, but you may want to message the seller and confirm it's in IT mode.

Seller says, "Not sure but it can easily be changed." Sounds like a pass to me.

Have them flash it instead of you. Then it's their fault if they break it :D

So how to flash the BIOS on the MoBo for 3000 series Ryzen 7?

Do I boot to BIOS then can access the USB from there to flash it?

Upgrading the motherboard BIOS is easy. You can either put the new one on a thumb drive and boot to the utility, or use the @BIOS app that Gigabyte provides. That's what I use. Then you can just do it in Windows.

So even though the CPU is not "compatible" with the MoBo out of the box Windows still works?

I think it will still work, but in your case updating before you install Windows is probably best, to prevent any possible installation glitches. It's always fun and games with new tech :)

Just look in the manual, it'll tell you how to do it.

Won't boot to BIOS. DRAM LED on the MoBo is illuminated red.

UGH.

Suggestions?

Did you update the BIOS? Or will it not let you do that?

I am not able to even boot to BIOS. I'll try reseating the RAM and then one by one if it doesn't work. The RAM part number is on the gigabyte AVL.
