prakritjay 0
I'm a new convert from Plex to Emby and I'm really liking most so far (though offline sync on iOS can be a bit wonky). However, on Safari, auto quality is not accurate. It defaults to 720p 1.5mbps. When I go into user playback settings and change it to 4k 120mbps (which I am capable of because I have fibre gigabit internet), everything plays smooth. Furthermore, if I use Chrome, the quality is chosen correctly, as per needed for the respective video. For the same video (a 1080p 4mpbs tv show) Safari chose 720p 1.5mbps while Chrome converted to max, showing 1080p 5mbps. Can this be fixed on Safari? Luke 37050
Hi, unlike Chrome, safari doesn't have API's to get bandwidth estimates from the device. It's something we'll continue to look at improving in future updates. Our iOS app does have this though.
prakritjay 0
Hmm okay, in that case is there a Mac app in the works and is it coming soon? Emby seems to have little support for Mac on the player side.
