All my different screens that have the * bring up the Volume level and impaired options of the roku now.  Maybe i'm having a "moment", but could of sworn the only way to change the sort options was utilizing the *?

Aka, sort by date released / critic rating / user rating and so on?

Please advise as to what i'm missing or forgot...

What app version?  But you may have to elaborate.

It may be a further move on the part of FW 9.2 to completely hijack this key press.  Luckily, I happen to be working on a solution to that right now.

Does it still work from the home screen?

On the home screen hitting * does still go to the emby settings.

But not on the browsing screen?

Did you have music playing at the time?

Well, let me investigate and get back to you.  I see in my other post the music note being displayed.  But do not recall if music was actually playing at this point.  But more than likely, yes.

Okay, that makes sense.  If the Roku player is active, then it will capture the "*" button.  Otherwise, as long as the player isn't active, we should be able to use it in the browse screens.

But, there will be an alternative option soon.

The beta that just went up gives you a new toolbar on the grid that you can use to change sort, filters, etc.

Made sure i was playing music...  Went into my movies and the new tool bar is excellent!

Edit:  Went to see if i could get the sort order correct for my other post.  To see if that could be resolved.

Trying to sort, in any library, kicks you back to the main roku screen.

Yes Sir, That fixed my settings problem.  Great work!

Not positive what the check mark in the circle does?  I know it makes it red and put a ghost buster line over it...

But, this should take care of the * settings button.

No guesses...?

What do we use a check mark to indicate in Emby?  What would a "not" symbol over that one be trying to convey...?

Make sense now?

Roku intercepts the * button to provide a consistent way for users to access the settings menu during video and audio playback. It started in 9.1 this behavior. With 9.2 mandated that apps cannot intercept the * button while video or audio is playing. They want users to design interfaces for users to interact with for functionality. Not use buttons on the remote to achieve this.

We'll i wasn't exactly sure that it was marking or not marking a whole library as being watched...  I aint afraid of no check mark.

The toolbar is just the "sort" stuff. So you can see which in that view you have not watched. You want the ghostbuster version showing.

For things watched you want checkmark without ghostbusters showing.

It isn't actually changing their statuses. It is simply giving you a list of items with those statuses.. lol.

Remember don't cross the streams. That applies to video too. :P

Ah - yeah, both the Heart and Unwatched toolbar buttons are just filters for the view.  You should see the contents change as you engage them.

I can see clearly now, the * settings is gone!

Thanks guys for the fix and explaining the toolbar.  Now you dont have to ask me "Hey ass hat, did you click on the ghost buster thingy? How about un-clicking that."

Was gonna happen at some point.

(Although i do have a couple of movies, not sure i would notice watched vs. not very easily)

That button will still actually bring up the settings panel (same thing that the "cog" button does).

All that is on that right now is the option for grouping collections and showing titles on the items in the grid.
