I can reproduce the long select doing nothing on a channel: Home -> Live TV Guide shortcut -> Go up to "Channels" in the top bar with the directional pad on the remote, select "Channels", go to a channel and long press, you hear a "beep" but nothing shows. However, if I do it this way, it works: Home -> Schedule Shortcut -> Scroll left to Channels -> select a channel and long press and the menu appears.
