teicang 27
Hi all, Is a week that I got the following problem, if I try to play from remote ,movie with bit rate 1080p H264 it start to play but stop each 2 or 3 sec and the processor load reach the value near or 100%.(I noticed the bandwith used is very very low) I'm quite sure before a week this was not happen. I have a terrramaster F2-220 with TOS at last release 4.1.03 and emby server 4.2.1.0 I 'm experimeting this problem just with the movie on 1080p H264 like this (see picture 1), other file 720p or lower working fine and reach sometimes the used bandwith around 1.7 Mb\s , so is not a network speed problem. If I set in the Emby android app ,the speed limit to 2 Mb\s it start to work, the bandwith used rich a pick to 800 kb\s, cpu always near 100%, but logically the quality of immage is sure poor than the original. I noticed also another aspect, if I try to reproduce a movies with 1080p but NOT H264 but HEVC the processor load remain quite low and the movie is played well without problem, the bandwith used arrive to a pick around 1Mb\s without problem.(see picture2 ) I wanted put the log but with file server app I'm not be able to see the folder were it stored on NAS, and I'm not familiar with SSH connection so I haven't included it. Hope I have given enought information for you expert :-) thx \Gianni Picture 1 BAD MOVIES Video Title1080p H264CodecH264AVCYesProfiloHighLivello41Risoluzione1920x1040Formato1.85:1AnamorficoNoInterlacciatoNoFramerate23,976Bitrate18.705 kbpsColori primaribt709Spazio Colorebt709Trasferimento Colorebt709Profondità Bit8 bitFormato Pixelyuv420pRef frame1NAL4 . teicang 27
Any suggestion? I tryed to play movies in the local network and logically all the movies working great . Does anyone with Tearramaster play video in 1080p H264 from remote? just to see if it's my problem or a common problem? thx to all in advance
Happy2Play 8145
To me from a software transcoding standpoint the processor is just not powerful enough to convert this media. I don't know how hardware acceleration applies to these nas produces.

Thx Happy, but if I play the same movie in a local ntw and it works , means the process to trasconding is different from local vs remote? With other 1080p movies it works so I supposed there is someting in the movies it's self, Can I provide any other log to you to help to undestand if is a local NAS problem or someting in the emby server didn't work properly with some specific file? thx

The transcode log you posted shows a 18Mbps media being converted to 8Mbps. Not sure on the directplay error, but would appear you have set a limit/quality on the app/client you are playing on. When playing remotely you are dependent on your internet speeds, usually your upload speed, but for mobile devices your device download speed will be a factor also. May I do another test cheking what you indicate and post again the log just to be sure that the contents is corret? Do you need both log? emby server and trascoding ? Is there any way to see inside the emby server which is the device with the limitation yet set? In attach the setting on my account from web browser access. As you can see there isn't any limitation :-( How Can I reset on the server this type of behaviour? many thanks
teicang 27
Hi, I finish to check all the different APP I'm using about any bandwith limit setted, All are set to AUTO. I the mentime I have made another test, using a movie 720p H264 but with bitrate equal to 9332KB\s , just to verify the limit problem.(from log my limit is set to 7000000) Inside the log I found same message you indicate (Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit), BUT realy the movie is played well without stop, so also if the log saidmax birate 7000000 , and the movie bit rate is higher 9332782 all works fine . 2019-10-30 08:58:38.510 Info App: Bitrate exceeds DirectStream limit: media bitrate: 9332782, max bitrate: 7000000 http://37.117.214.224:8096/emby/System/Logs/embyserver.txt?api_key=84ebf54e05d64650a07f74425092197f 08:58:38 Any ideas or any other test I can perform? HOW can I find out or change the set limit? This may not be the problem, but if I restore it I can immediately repeat the test. thx movie used : Media Info Video Title720p H264CodecH264AVCYesProfiloHighLivello31Risoluzione1280x528Formato2.40:1AnamorficoNoInterlacciatoNoFramerate24Bitrate9.332 kbpsColori primaribt709Spazio Colorebt709Trasferimento Colorebt709Profondità Bit8 bitFormato Pixelyuv420pRef frame1NAL4 Edited October 31, 2019 by teicang
Luke 36888
They start but stop each 2 or 3 second. Hi, usually this is a sign that the bitrate is too high. Try lowering the in-app internet quality setting.
