As you mention it depends, the caching does not do anything Kodi does not already do, each time Kodi accesses an image when navigating it caches that image, the the pre caching just does this up front, if you navigate through your collection you would have caches all the images manually anyway. The service gets stuck on "retrieving remote image list" and I need to restart the box to get kodi starting. Here are some logs.. You might be better off just letting Kodi cache the images as you use them the first time, once Kodi caches them that will be used from the cache from that point. This way you are just caching what you need as it sounds like you have a lot of content and I doubt you would be viewing all your content constantly. Yeah but the navigation has been laggy from time to time, thought if I cache the artwork it would be more smooth overall. Guess 100k have to do it then, or buy better hardware lol. TeamB 2352 Posted October 27, 2019 Share Posted October 27, 2019 You can check how it would work with fully cached images, just navigate to an like a tv show or page of movies and let all the images load. Now go back to the home screen and then navigate to that same area again, going to areas you already have been to should be using caches images, if this is smoother then caching is helping.
