So if he is asking should he turn on https to do this - then absolutely yes as I presume he is current using http only. Do I recommend doing this - no, but as he appears to have a valid reason for doing so - then it is certainly is better option than his previous configuration. Securing access to your router by only allowing https and allowing external access are two completely separate and distinct options. The former can be done without the latter. My personal recommendation would be to enable https but not expose your router to the internet. If you really want to access your router remotely then I would suggest using a vpn between your mobile device and your home network. Fratopolis 62 Posted October 20, 2019 Share Posted October 20, 2019 You can use your Asus routers lets encrypt certificate and apply it to your EMBY installation so you can enable HTTPS to your EMBY installation for more secure access. I did that before, I eventually just bought a domain that came with a 1 year cert for like 12 bucks. Enabling that feature in your router should have no impact on your EMBY remote access if you enable this in your router. But you can double the use of that acquired certificate for EMBY's security!
