Podcast does not playback

Hi,

 

i´m running Emby 4.2.1.0 on Debian Linux and i´m not able to hear some podcast. Music or Video from a local storage works fine.

I see the problem, but I don't have a fix for you right now, sorry. Here's what's happening. This mp3 url:

https://themelt.zone/podlove/file/22/s/feed/c/mp3/the-makerbot-method-and-our-year-as-a-youtube-creator.mp3

Returns a 301 redirect to:

http://themelt.zone/episodes/the-makerbot-method-and-our-year-as-a-youtube-creator.mp3?ptm_source=feed&ptm_context=mp3&ptm_request=73d9b696891d&ptm_file=the-makerbot-method-and-our-year-as-a-youtube-creator.mp3

So we're supposed to follow the redirect to the new url, and we do support that, however, redirecting https to http is considered bad practice. In fact, the http library that we're using doesn't even allow it, check out this documentation:

It says:

With AllowAutoRedirect set to true, the .NET Framework will follow redirections even when being redirected to an HTTP URI from an HTTPS URI. 
.NET Core versions 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 will not follow a redirection from HTTPS to HTTP even if AllowAutoRedirect is set to true.

And it appears there's no mechanism for us to override this. So that means this would take a bit more work for us to resolve, and then there's the question of it we should even do it or not.

 

What i think the best solution is:

 

Ask the owner of this podcast to redirect to https urls, because they do actually work.
