Noustaa 2
Hello I would like to request to add the possibility to see the duration of a movie or an episode of a TV SHOW please ? i know TVDB & TMDB provide those information. For movies just show the full duration of the movie but for TV show no need to get the duration of each episodes but just the average (for example The big bang theory 25 minutes). Let me know if some peoples are also interested for that feature
Luke 32840
Hi, yes we used to. What happened along the way is we added so many other pieces of information that it's just hard to show everything without looking cluttered.
Noustaa 2
Hi Luke, Ah yeah i understand your point ! I would love to see that feature available again, i think i doesnt take so much place on the screen so it should not look cluttered ^^ Thanks for the very fast answer ! ebr 13816
We only removed this from TV Series themselves (and the TV apps still show it actually because they have a bit more room being able to assume a landscape presentation). Movies and episodes still show their actual duration on the detail screens.
Noustaa 2
Hi ebr, So if im not able to see it i assume that you use the duration info provided by the media file itself instead of using the duration info provided by TMDB or TVDB right ? Because i use only .STRM file so in my case the server cannot get any data from the media file until i open the file. Is it possible to use the duration info provided by TMDB or TVDB ? Do you understand what i mean ?
ebr 13816
Okay, yes, that's correct. For actual media, we use the actual duration.
Luke 32840
Once you play the .strm I think you'll see the runtime after that, right?
Noustaa 2
Yes you are right ! I just tried. Once i open the file at least once i get a lot of new information and i can see the duration displayed. Do you think it would be possible to also have the possibility to get the duration from TVDB or TMDB instead of media file information ?
Luke 32840
Do you think it would be possible to also have the possibility to get the duration from TVDB or TMDB instead of media file information ? We rely on this information during transcoding and playback to be accurate, so as a result, displaying a dummy or temporary value is not something we can just throw in quickly.
