miniliQuid 85
I do not use just my TV for emby much, generally PC is on so I use Emby Theatre instead. Thing is every now and then I won't be doing anything on the PC but still wanna watch something. 90% of the time that show will be English so no subs, but sometimes it's an anime episode, Japanese audio and therefor English subs are on. Now the thing is, there is always a weird black subtitle background on Samsung TV and I cannot seem to change it. Hope I am just missing the setting cause it is rather annoying. Fortunately I don't use the samsung emby app that much
FrostByte 5049
What version of the app are you using? Model TV? What type subtitles are they? All my subs are srt and I don't have black backgrounds https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/29517-how-to-report-a-problem/
miniliQuid 85
Ah thanks, that helps a lot already, SRT do seem to work fine as well as encoded PGS/DVD/Blu-ray ripped subs. Only one that seems to have the black background are the DEFAULT ASS ones: Samsung model: UE55NU7170SXXN Samsung firmware: 1270 Emby app version: kan deze nergens vinden
FrostByte 5049
What happens with ass files if they are external? Do they still have the black bar? I think that's similar to what arvesu is seeing in this thread. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/52879-ass-subtitles-not-rendering/#entry793687 Edited October 10, 2019 by FrostByte
miniliQuid 85
Yes, what it shows in his screenshot is what happens for me as well Unfortunately I do not seem to have any external ASS files. I can check later if the same thing happens when they are external by downloading a file. Edited October 10, 2019 by miniliQuid
