Guest benderisall
Hey, I am sorry if this has been answered 100 times but wanted to make sure settings were correct for my use case. I have added the plugin and are now looking at the settings - https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAuxKg6l My question is which should I have disabled if all I want to do is have Emby tell Trakt that an episode or movie is watched (once I finish watching). I don't want Emby to effect anything already set within Trakt.tv or have trakt-tv effect emby. Does that make sense? So I just want it to update things going forward for episodes and movies. Thanks
Luke 37029
Hi, I'm not really an expert with Trakt but I believe the defaults should do that.
Guest benderisall
Well no matter the settings, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I connected it to my trakt account with the pin but after I watched a show nothing was updated on Trakt.
Luke 37029
Can you please go over an example? thanks.
Guest benderisall
I'm not sure what you mean. I play an episode of a show. Nothing gets updated in Trakt.tv
Guest benderisall
So I just checked and apparently it doesn't actually get connected with my Trakt/tv account. I am under the plugin within emby and click 'get pin" and follow those steps and add the pin. But it never actually connects with my account. Not sure what's going on. Guest benderisall
I guess no one else is experiencing this. Basically the issue is it won't actually connect with Trakt.tv?

Try running the Trakt scheduled tasks that are near the bottom of your sever manage page. See the screen shot. Do those complete successfully or do they error out? Guest benderisall
I ran the first one, trakt.tv still shows no connected app for Emby. It did run without issue. The issue is that it will not connect with emby, which is the cause of the playing issue which I started this thread for. It seems it asks for the Pin but nothing actually happens. Luke 37029
Did you configure the trakt plugin settings?
Guest benderisall
In which way? I was told to leave as default to not effect what is already on my Trakt.tv account. These are my settings Edited January 3, 2020 by benderisall

JoshuaAJones 54
I have the following 2 checked under my Trakt plug-in name: Skip unwatched import from Trakt (a pain when Trakt doesn't scrobble correctly) Update Trakt watched history during Scheduled Task (a benefit when Trakt doesn't scrobble correctly) Under Scheduled Tasks, I have "Sync library to trakt.tv" set to trigger "On application startup" as I currently have my HTPC set to restart daily at 4AM. Currently, I am having similar problems with the plugin. If I go to Trakt during a playback, I can see the show marking time in the progress bar BUT, when the show ends, it is not scrobbling completion and checking off the episode. When I manually run the Scheduled Task, the episodes appear in my History (although the times seem to be the start times, not the completion times). This problem only started in the last few weeks and I am not sure what is causing it.

Are you sure you completed the plugin authentication process? is there another step aside from entering the pin that i'm missing? i hit "get PIN", copy, paste, save. hit the run on scheduled task: about 2min later: result: Edited October 24, 2019 by phi303

phi303 11
How many trakt users have you added? i have two! i deleted the code for the spare one and now it finally syncs fine. thank you so much, i didn't even think about how multiple users would affect this. Luke 37029
Try deleting your trakt xml config file, restarting the server, then seeing if you can setup the two users again.
phi303 11
Try deleting your trakt xml config file, restarting the server, then seeing if you can setup the two users again. the 2nd user isn't too important, just nice. where's the xml config file located in QNAP? Guest benderisall
Still got nothing on my end. The box says "On the next request to the Trakt API, this PIN will be exchanged for tokens, and the text field will be cleared. You can input a new PIN to get new tokens." but my PIN never goes away when I enter it. So nothing is connected with Trakt.tv clearly. I don't have any other users, I don't have an example cause I don't know what you mean. Just will not actually connect with trakt.tv. What XML file where? Guest benderisall
I tried manually running the scheduled task "sync library to trak.tv" and get the following error *** Error Report *** Version: 4.2.1.0 Command line: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll -noautorunwebapp Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Runtime: file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Emby-Server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 12 Program data path: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata Application directory: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: Unauthorized at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpClientManager.CoreHttpClientManager.SendAsyncInternal(HttpRequestOptions options, String httpMethod) at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpClientManager.CoreHttpClientManager.SendAsync(HttpRequestOptions options, String httpMethod) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.<>c__DisplayClass32_0.<<PostToTrakt>b__0>d.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.Retry[T](Func`1 function) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.PostToTrakt(String url, Object data, CancellationToken cancellationToken, TraktUser traktUser) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.RefreshUserAuth(TraktUser traktUser) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.SetRequestHeaders(HttpRequestOptions options, TraktUser traktUser) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.GetFromTrakt(String url, CancellationToken cancellationToken, TraktUser traktUser) at Trakt.Api.TraktApi.SendGetAllWatchedMoviesRequest(TraktUser traktUser) at Trakt.ScheduledTasks.SyncFromTraktTask.SyncTraktDataForUser(User user, Double currentProgress, CancellationToken cancellationToken, IProgress`1 progress, Double percentPerUser) Source: Emby.Server.Implementations TargetSite: Void MoveNext()
