jojojohnson 0
I am using Serviio and USB stick with a Samsung 6 Series (49) - UN49MU6290) TV. That TV plays almost any video codec/container without transcoding. However, Serviio is not so great with subtitles or dual audio tracks. So I am looking at Emby for the first time.I find that Emby (free version) is transcoding using mpg for most formats except some mp4's. I find this odd given the TV plays a wide range videos formats using USB or Serviio.Emby seems eminently configurable to suit a wide variety of needs. In my case, I want to try direct play for all videos at least for testing purposes. 1. My first question is how to verify using the logs that Emby is using the correct profile. Is Emby using a default system profile or Samsung Smart TV system profile?2. How do I tell Emby to use a custom profile for the TV above? Do I have to give it a specific filename or useragent or something? TY.
Luke 36998
Hi, for #1, currently the only way is by monitoring the emby server log. The dlna feature has profile editing built into the web interface, although it's not well documented and is primarily targeting advanced users at this stage Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. jojojohnson 0
Could you be more specific. You said the server log, so which line in particular would confirm the profile being used? Thank-you.
Luke 36998
If you enable debug logging under the Logs section, then you'll find log statements starting with: Found matching device profile:
