Problem with USB installation

Hi, 

 

I'm using Emby for a few months now. 

I never occured any problems. 

 

Sometimes I have to reset my Smart Hub because Netflix won't load. 

So I did yesterday, when I'm trying to install Emby via USB I have a problem. 

 

The installation proces works fine, but when I start the app I only get a black screen.

 

Is this a known problem? 

 

My tv is a Samsung UE55KS8000

 

I'm using the latest Tizen installation file from the sticky.

Tried the uninstallation already 2 times.

The installationproces works fine!

 

My last resort is to reset my hub again complete y. Emby works perfect on computer and smartphone.

My tv is up-to-date.

I did a reset of my tv, the whole thing, But didn't help.

 

Reinstallation also didn't work.

 

Hopefully there is a workaround.

Why is this app not in the store? And other 'crap' is..

Since you're also having issues with Netflix loading occasionally, have you checked your network is OK.  

 

Do you see anything on the black screen?  Is the clock in the top right corner or do you get the loading spinner at all.  The first thing the app does is search for servers on the network, so if there are problems this could be taking a while.  If you wait a few minutes does it eventually load?

Hi, 

 

First of all: everything works fine again!

 

I don't know exactly what the solution was but here are the steps I did.

 

- Reset network

- Reset TV

- Restart Emby Server

- Sleepy times for 8 hours

- Feed baby and wife

- Start Emby on TV

- Works perfect!

 

Yesterday I started Emby, the initial loading screen was visible. Hereafter only a black screen without logo's or something like that.

Is it possible that my Emby Server did an automatic update and I had to patient?

I have the same problem. After installing the latest version, all I get is a black screen after opening. I thought there was a issue with this version so was just waiting for another version to come out. I have to install a previous version over the top and it works again. Tried several times but still just get a black screen after the initial emby logo.

@VandeWalle yeah tried restarting TV and server. Nothing seems to fix it. As soon as I install an older version, it works straight away.

 

 

What model TV do you have?

Good to see your tv doesn't auto delete the app like others with 2015s

 

Is .63 the one you're falling back to which works then?

Yeah glad about that.

 

It was the second release of the self install. The one just before this version.

There may have been an issue in the last release that could have caused this.  Try the next version in a few days and see if it is fixed.

Yes, the newest version should be on GitHub as of today.  If you go into settings it's v 1.0.68  Or, you may need to go into the server dashboard and see the version you have there if you're getting the black screen.

Uninstall the app, power cycle the TV.

 

Wipe everything from the USB, create a folder called userwidget and put in just the two new files and try again please.

Yes, that's the correct current instructions.  The file was updated yesterday though with version 1.0.68.  Just try power cycling the TV after deleting the old version and making sure you wipe everything off the USB before coping the new download onto it.

Hi guys. I download the Emby app onto a USB to install on to a Samsung TV. Managed to get that to work fine but the TV keeps telling me that a newer version is available on emby.media ? Any ideas.
