AdrianW 1052
If you enter a TV series at the top level, you see the series details and have buttons for "Play Next Up", "Play All", etc. Below there is a list of all the unplayed episodes - if you want to get to the details screen of the Next Up episode - the obvious thing to do is press "down" - but this goes to the second unplayed episode. I realise that this is how all the navigation in ET works - it's all related to screen position, and directly below "Play Next Up" is the second unplayed episode. Can navigation be tweaked so that the left-most (i.e. the first unplayed) episode is selected instead. My wife has been noticing this for as few weeks now, each time she starts a new series she accidentally starts episode 2 instead of 1.
daedalus 430
navigation on ET was never logical, but i was told this is intended, with no will to change it
AdrianW 1052
Please fix this - it's causing the WAF to go way down. Today she started another series and ET stupidly played episode 2 instead of episode 1. It can't be that hard to move the selection on to the first unplayed episode! Happy2Play 8144
Which ET version, I don't see this navigation issue in the desktop version.
AdrianW 1052
It's the desktop version (v 3.0.9). It only really occurs when ALL the episodes of a show are unwatched.
Happy2Play 8144
It's the desktop version (v 3.0.9). It only really occurs when ALL the episodes of a show are unwatched. Hmm, I get different results on different computers. One hits the first episode when navigating down and the other hits the second episode. Have no idea why hardware would have a difference in navigation though. Actually this is window dimensions related, Full screen this happens on both system, change the screen dimensions adjusts where navigation lands. APP version is acts the same. Happy2Play 8144
I'm always running full screen. But can you confirm changing the window size fixes the issue.
daedalus 430
sure that "fixes" it the navigation is theoretically correct, cause it selects the item below in the "grid", just like navigating through all the other items like gernes, directors, back/search/user icon and so on it's just not logical, cause eg it partly goes different paths when navigating down and up again
AdrianW 1052
But can you confirm changing the window size fixes the issue. I can get it to go down to the left-most episode if I have it in a window and the window is wider than 16:9 but if it's 16:9 or less then it always goes to the second episode in the list. As daedalus says, it's moving to whatever is directly below, and when the window aspect is wider then the thumbnails are also wider meaning "down" hits the left-most one. Navigation in ET needs fixing - here's another issue I posted about a few months back: "Impossible to change filters or sorting with remote" which is caused by the same up/down navigation problem. Guest asrequested
That is an irritating behavior. It doesn't jump to where you expect it to be.
