Google Assistant Communication Issue

I tried playing an episode of IASIP using my Google Home mini and I wasn't paying close enough attention when the assistant asked me which device I wanted to playback on. I ended up guessing devices and eventually she had enough of me. So, I tried again and this time I realized she was asking numbers and assigning them to my devices, only the device I wanted to playback on wasn't listed. Damn it. I wake up my Shield, and realize my account isn't signed in. I sign in my account and this time Google Assistant lists my Shield as device number two. I say, "two" when she stops listing devices and she replies back three more times before giving up, "Sorry, I didn't get that".
I try the same steps mentioned above on my Nest Home and this time I see the problem.

I'm saying, "two", but Assistant hears, "to". On my third and final attempt I spell out, "t-w-o" and it works, but what a weird problem.

I have a few suggestions, and maybe they're better served in the feature request section, but here they are.

When Google Assistant is listing the devices available, have a repeat option at the end. Similar to an automated phone answering service? "To hear these options again....."

The nice part about using the voice commands is that they can turn things on for you, but this feels limited when using Emby's voice commands since the device has to be awake to be an option for playback and by then you're having a full-blown conversation with the device.

Lastly, how do I set a device as default if I missed my opportunity upon setting up the service? It asked me the first time, but now it just asks which device and immediately begins listing them. The github says to:

You can set a player as default. If a device/player name is not included at the end of your command, it will be automatically directed at your default player.

  • change the player (to {player or device name})
  • change my player to Living Room TV

Neither produce a result that lead to setting a player as default.

As always, I apologize if this has been vetted in another post, the search syntax for, "two, to, too" and "google home" produced countless results.

***Edit: added github directions
