rechigo 293
Is there a way I can use my RAM as transcoding temp for Emby on windows? I know I could do this on linux by just putting it on like /dev/shm, but I'm not sure how to do this on windows.
lorac 100
Yes. It's been talked about before although I'm not sure how recently. You need the software to create the ram drive and then from within Emby go to the transcoding section to specify the path to your ram drive. rbjtech 4170
Unless you have Tb's of RAM, then this is a bad idea .. The performance from a HDD is perfectly acceptable so there is really not a lot to be gained by doing it. I've even moved my transcoding temp off the SSD to avoid unnecessary wear.
