No resume for Audiobook on Android app?

Hello,

I'm attempting to listen to my audiobooks on my server via the Android app, and there doesn't seem to be a "resume from..." playback option?  When I load the file in a web browser it has the resume playback as the first option, but when I select it on the Emby android app the only options available are Play, which starts from the beginning each time.

How do I get it to resume playback from where I left off on the app?

Just wanted to +1 this. I'm looking to replace Booksonic with Emby for my audiobooks .. and this feature is pretty important to me. I've had the same experience as the OP. Hope it can be resolved soon! =]

Edit: I'm also not certain that it continues to play the entire book, assuming it was originally played as a playlist. When I click to resume, it appears to only have the current chapter's mp3 in the list.

Hi there @@Naenyn, are you able to resume the same file in the web app?

Hi there @@Naenyn, are you able to resume the same file in the web app?

Yes, resuming works fine via the web app. However, it only works for the individual file that was paused previously. It doesn't retain and resume where I left off in the book. In other words, when that file is resumed (in the web app) and completed, playback stops. To pick back up where I left off in the book, I have to browse back to the book, find the track I left off on, and "play all from here" again. Thankfully, it does properly mark tracks as having been played, so figuring out where I left off isn't difficult.. just inconvenient.

So, seems like two problems:

  • resuming an audiobook in the android app doesn't work
  • resuming an audiobook in the webapp doesn't retain track position within the book

Should I perhaps report the second in the webapp forum?

Edit: It also doesn't look like the android app displays which tracks have been played...

Regarding resuming individual track vs album, that's just as far as we've gotten with audio books. More development is needed.
