troyhough 57
I have been fighting this issue for the past several weeks and makes Emby very unusable when viewing anything remotely. For some perspective, before this issue, I had no problem viewing Live TV and recorded content while on mobile (720/1.5 setting). Now I am having problems constantly. Every time I have a problem I'll click the wrench and see what it shows for quality, and I am pretty sure every time there is an issue it will say Auto 720/1.5. When I start playing the show, however, it will not say Auto but the Emby web app changes to Auto 720/1.5 over time. 720/1.5 is what I have it set to in playback settings. A theory??: maybe when out driving around and Emby senses a pause or low data flow, it will switch to Auto and get all goofy instead of just sticking to the original 720/1.5 setting and filling up the buffer when data throughput picks back up like always did before??? Not sure if the Auto deal is part of the problem or not. I always have it set to 720/1.5, and never Auto. As for the problem, the player/screen will go BLACK and just totally stop playing anything. If I have a solid 40+MB LTE connection, it seems to not happen as often, possibly not at all, compared to the typical varying LTE connection. I grabbed my other phone on the way out the door and quickly took a couple videos. #1 shows you exactly what I am talking about. Video starts to sputter, I check the wrench and it had switched to Auto 1.5/720 and then it totally stops playing with black screen. #2 shows the video playing with no issues at all. I click the wrench and it's at 1.5/720 and never switches to Auto.

troyhough 57
Where? @@softworkz, yourself, and I discussed this in PM a few weeks back. The discussion went silent on your end. Also, I mentioned this issue (combined with the Transcoding Throttling problem) in the Emby Windows Sever sub-forum about 5-6 weeks ago.
Luke 37046
Ok sorry, this is why, and I think we've had this discussion before, it is best to keep the conversation in one place so that we can refresh ourselves on all of the past details whenever you add some new information. Thanks.
troyhough 57
Ok sorry, this is why, and I think we've had this discussion before, it is best to keep the conversation in one place so that we can refresh ourselves on all of the past details whenever you add some new information. Thanks. I do agree with this, however, I think this belongs in the Web App sub-forum since this appears to only be a problem (for me) with the Web player. Also, if others see this and are having problems, they can add relevant information to the topic. Thanks
troyhough 57
Web app is now showing 4.2.0.55 and playback is back to rock solid! When I click on the wrench after watching something for a few minutes, it's still reporting "Auto 1.5/720" sometimes, instead of 1.5/720, but at least playback is back to working well. I'll report back if anything changes. Thanks fellas.
