Helios 0
I just switched form Plex to Media Browser and I must say that it was an awesome decision! Definitely a great piece of software. Currently, I have a MB3 server running that I can access from outside my network thru a web browser (https://<MY_WAN_IP>/mediabrowser) and everything works well. It is my understanding that I can install the MB3 channel on a Roku and point it to the remote IP and access my media using any of the user credentials that I have on the server (I hope that I'm correct). Since MB3 dosen't have HTTPS support yet, I'm tunneling my traffic thru stunnel to create a secure HTTPS connection (everything works as it should). My question is: can I setup my Roku remotely and use an HTTPS address instead of an HTTP address? I don't think that it should be a problem, but I just wanted to double check before I go out and buy a Roku. Also, which Roku models are compatible with MB3? My gf has an older Roku and it says that it isn't compatible with the channel.
gcw07 347
At the moment it definitely will not work over HTTPS. As for model. I'd go with a Roku 3 over every other model.
