ThierryD 2
Hi, What's the best way for music library with audio and video? The structure of my collection is : Music/Arstist Name/Year - Release Name/ => if audio : track - song name.ext => if video : video_file.ext (OR Video_TS Dir for DVD) I tried different contents (Music, Music Video, Multiple contents) but I can't access 'Artist' and 'Album' metadata for video. Interface always shows'Title' like for movies. I'm using Emby 4.2.1.0 on NAS Synology. Thnaks for your help
Luke 36876
Hi, unfortunately at this time you can only pick one or the other, but it's possible for the future. thanks.
ThierryD 2
Hi, Thanks for your answer. Do you mean there's no way to access 'Arstist" and 'Album' metadata for music video files? It seams it was possible in older version. Thanks.
Luke 36876
Yes that is possible, but you need to configure those values in the metadata editor for music videos.
ThierryD 2
Yes that is possible, but you need to configure those values in the metadata editor for music videos. How can I do this? I didn't find any options to change display.
Luke 36876
Have you explored the editing features for your music videos? 3 dot menu -> Edit.
ThierryD 2
Have you explored the editing features for your music videos? 3 dot menu -> Edit. Yes I did. Only have access to Movies metadata (Titlle etc...)
Luke 36876
If you set it up as a music video library there will be fields to enter the artist.
ThierryD 2
If you set it up as a music video library there will be fields to enter the artist. I still set up as music video library but there's no filds Artist, Album. Only Title, Date and the other fields for movies. Could another media center, like Synology Video Station, disrupt the operation of Emby?
PenkethBoy 2063
Are you sure you set the type of library to "Music Videos" ?

Happy2Play 8138
Interesting, something is definitely wrong with that MV library. I had no issue adding your exact structure.

ThierryD 2
What other libraries have you added to emby? Anim => type of Movies Movies > type of Movies Docs => type of TV TV shows => type of TV Shows > type of TV Music Video=> type of Music Video => same source as Music Music => type of Content mixt => same source as Music Video => audio and video files
ThierryD 2
For testing, I created a new Music Video library, with only one video file, in a new directory not referenced by others libraries. It works : I can access to Artist and Album fields.

ThierryD 2
So, to sum up : Today, when creating a library type of Content Mixt, by default Emby analyzes audio files as music audio and video files as Movie. We obtain the same result whith library type of Music. When the library references the server's Music directory, it could be logical Emby analyses the videos as Music Video by default (in my opinion ). Luke 36876
I'm not sure what you mean, but you can only pick one content type per folder.
ThierryD 2
Hello, What I try to do is to manage my music server (a Synology with audio flac et video files with the same root - see first post). In tried Mixed content but music video files are scanned by Emby like Movies (no Artist / Album metadata). So I created 2 Emby libraries : one for the audio (type Music) and a second for videos (type Music video), but in this last, videos are scanned like Movies, not like Music video (no Artist and Album metadata). Luke 36876
You have two libraries using the same folder with different content types? That's not really supported. What folders did you add to each library?
ThierryD 2
volume1/music is added to the music and video music libraries. Structure is : Music/Arstist Name/Year - Release Name/ flac files or video files (mkv, ts, vob...)
Luke 36876
Right, please just be aware that adding the same folder to different libraries is not fully supported, so you might run into some things that won't work properly.
