I have a roku streaming stick plus.

Been on holiday for three weeks and back home now and all up to latest server and roku beta's.

A number of times today I have found that after arrowing back a few times (when wife says 'what did they say, or what just happened'), the lip sync is way out.

Files were transcoding 'remux' or something.  Files attached.

Both times were when near the end of the shows.

Is this an issue, or something with my specific setup ?

I am trying to find the files it was on - I suspect it relates to something in the files/media type or something.

I have replaced some just now and will re-check.

Was the item transcoding, directstream, or directplay?

I do see an issue occasionally with AVI when the audio isn't converted but the video is. When it first starts to play the lips are ahead of the actual voices. Press rewind once and let it start again clears it up every time. It has done this since Roku firmware 9.1.x and others on Roku forums have mentioned this problem in their HLS deliveries the lipsync problem. Roku never makes known which bugs they are fixing or when. You only know when they are magically fixed, or their obscure firmware footnotes mention it. They keep their forum personnel in the dark or tell them to keep us in the dark. Supposedly firmware 10.x is the horrible firmware where the Roku channel _IS_ the homescreen and apps get a little row at the top. That is eventually coming too so prepare for that...lol.

I am guessing it was transcoding or directstream?

It isn't horrible it is the "unified" experience such as ... the image below...

Not related to the lipsync issue, just showing what is meant by "unified" experience. That is the future Roku homescreen already in use on partner devices.

See the "my apps" row? Emby will be there in that row and the row is customizable by last used app. Last used app moves to front. Always use Emby no problem. It will always be up front. Use lots of other apps too on Roku? This may be horrible for you..

Hi Luke,

Sorry - No to the lip sync.

But my Sheild TV just came back yesterday so it is back in action for may main viewing area.  Kids all have roku's and have not mentioned any lip sync issues.
