i tried downloading an entire tv series which resulted in downloading the specials which are not part of the show . i then tried to remove just these specials in the server dashboard which resulted in them just downloading again.

Can there be an option to not download specials when downloading a tv series.

i guess this could apply to movie extras too so maybe an unchecked option : Download associated specials and extras

Yes that's a good idea to add as an option. Thanks.

Has anyone tested pausing and resuming in the download notifications?

Testing it now seems to work alright.

Started a download, paused via the notification, resumed, repeated a few times. All was well. (I did this while on lan wifi, and with wifi only download enabled)

I then tried pausing, disconnected from wifi, then resumed. The notification disappeared and didn't come back. Reconnected to wifi, looked through a few menus (like viewing current downloads) and srill nothing. I then removed the app from recent apps and reopened it. The download resumed amd completed just fine.

App .75
Android 8.0.0

While I had this issue...

Hi Luke,

this was already feature was already working for me as I use internal storage only but with this update the downloads seem to start faster and far more reliable.
Thanks for the improvements here.

Anyway, there seems to be an issue with the Wi-Fi only download. What happened:

1. I did start a sync from mobile
2. The server transcoded it to the desired quality and stayed at Ready to transfer until I got Wi-Fi.
3. Download started on Wi-Fi
4. Wi-Fi disconnected and it started using my mobile internet.

I had to pause it in the notification bar or force close Emby otherwise it would go on downloading.

Could you have a look please?

...it worked just fine for me.
Nothing to report regarding pause and resume from my side besides the point it resuming on mobile data as explained above.

Is availability of this function dependent on Android version. I do not see an option to pause.

I found I had to swipe down on the notification to expand it and show the pause/resume buttons

Thank you, that worked but wasn't obvious.

Thank you, that worked but wasn't obvious.

the notification ui is somewhat erksome with the up down expansion of the notification area to find the desired ui element . (galaxy s8)

ui design suggestion

emby download notification collapsed
current media name + current media progress bar
total media count outstanding (asssuming a dynamic ui is feasible as the download queue length may change)

notification expanded view

a single pane (without further collapsion/expansion) showing
current media item name and progress
count of media items outstanding by movie, episode, albums, other
pause/resume

with a hyperlink to download history in the main app. (help keep notification clean / simple)

where media name is a more friendly
movie name (year)
showname - season number - episode number
artist - album (year)

i am still getting the odd album miising artwork.
