Attidudinal 0
A couple (of four and growing) movies WILL NOT UPDATE when supplied with the correct information from IMDB or TMDB. FINDS the movie specified and 'pretends' to update (swirly that finishes really fast) BUT NO proper data saved, no metadata description, release date, etc AND NO poster images available; COMPLETE FAILURE to do ANY updating. As does restarting the program and reattempting. Does not appear to be a DB issue (therefore coding) because it only happens with some, not all of the movies. Predominantly those which Emby failed to update to begin with (i.e. have the missing metadata referred to above and no artwork is available) NOTE: A similar problem was described as Emby having record in question locked, but NO RESOLVE WAS PROVIDED and it pertained to a Windows installation NOT Linux - all tools referred to there are useless here. Luke 36879
Hi there, please discuss an example and attach the information requested in how to report a problem. thanks !
Attidudinal 0
1) Emby fails to (properly) identify a movie - found by looking at current additions and SOME of them (not all) appeared without a poster (NO artwork, just a colored rectangle with a title.) 2) An inspection of the metadata shows that NO pertinent information had been downloaded; description, release date, whatever. 3) Located the movie on IMDB (TMDB once) and input ID in the "identify" field; "search" found the designated movie and 4) specified "replace all metadata" and once 'swirly' stopped (very quickly) discovered that a) NOTHING was updated NO artwork was available 5) Re-attempted to apply update - SAME STORY 6) Restarted program and repeat - SAME STORY Subequently, upon running a library scan (for new additions/changes) found that it was not updating, per Alert on Dashboard (that and the fact that I looked there when no updating occurred): Scan media library failed 8/16/2019, 3:45:37 pm Running time: 34 seconds NO LOGS WERE PRODUCED AT THAT TIME. The next log files to be produced did not occur until after 8PM and then a number of them in quick sucession... as attached. NO LIBRARY SCANS WILL NOW RUN - NO FURTHER ALERTS ARE BEING GIVEN (despite obvious failure) Program has been stopped and restarted WITHOUT it rectifying the dysfunction on any subsequent attempts. embyserver-63701583227.txt hardware_detection-63701583246.txt embyserver-63701583628.txt hardware_detection-63701583636.txt
Luke 36879
What movie did you try to identify and at about what time?
Attidudinal 0
Movie was "The Silence" just prior to the (subsequent) Library scan failure. The change of the sort name was attempted repitively, after having to stop/restart Emby in order to 'kill' the process that was hung. Same failure each time. It was after that when the Library scans failed; Alerts appeared twice in Dashboard. After that NO Alerts, even though Library scans would not function. Saved the logs files (in fact backed-up the entire installation) and then did a complete restore from backup in order to make Emby functional again.
