Configuration Views Not Applying after restart

I have a few categories for MB3 that I use and have been able to configure them with the same settings as I had in MB2.  One problem.  After I set lets say "Movies by Name" with the configuration tool, Index and set it to Year.

It puts the files in folders by year.  Exactly what I want it to do.  Once I close out of media browser due to server restart, pc restart.. and go back into that category.  I get the default view again.

This also happens with movies with the Genre category.

Any ideas on how to make these changes stick?

Best Regards,

Ebr,

I've verified that the setting is checked, for some reason when I completely exit MB or Media Center on my pc, the settings do not stick.  Not sure if its a version thing or a rights permission perhaps?  They do stick when I apply them and then back out to the main menu and then go back in, but as soon as the system exited, or even power cycled, the settings do not take effect.

I have TeamViewer on the system if you want to take a look, or if you have any ideas that I can try first.

let me know, it's more of an annoyance than anything, I may just take the categories out if I cannot get it to stick as it is pointless to have 3 separate categories that do the exact same thing as sort by name :)

How are you getting the exact same media folder repeated on the EHS?  I have a feeling this is the issue as the back-end system is not designed to have the exact same thing multiple times.

There is already an option to create a Movies by Genre folder in MBC so you don't need that one.

When I say 3 separate Categories that are the same I mean I can click on "Movies by Genre" and it shows up with movie screens by name, not in any genre, once I choose the filtering it stays, but only until the program is exited, it does not seem to save the settings and my media server does not run 24/7.

I took a 2 minute video with TeamViewer.  It shows me logging into the MB3 going into Category view and it actually showing up, then me going into Movies by Year and it not showing the year icons that it should.  I go into the config, make the changes, exit out, go back in and none of the settings have saved.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, this is very much a possibility :)

Thanks for the video.

That "Movies by Genre" item is the one that is created automatically by MBC when you check the option, right?  You didn't try to create your own...

On the Movies by Year - you obviously did create your own there as there is no option for that.  I can see that it is actually remembering the index state, it just isn't applying it properly on entry.  This is obviously a bug but I may not get to it until the next release.

Ebr,

Yes, I created the categories in the interface, and the Years are just folders / icons that I created back in the previous 2.0 days as I did with my categories.  I just prefer the new category icons to my old ones :)

Thank you for taking the time to look at it, I look forward to the next release!

 Best Regards,
