hardeyes 1
Was wondering if the new Emby app will convert DTS to AC3 if I play a movie (MKV with DTS) on my 2018/2019 Samsung TV from a flash drive? Also, does it convert all forms of DTS? Thank you.
FrostByte 5041
Do you have Emby server loaded somewhere? Emby is a client server system. So, the USB would have to be part of a library in which Emby server is aware which means the flash drive would have to be shareable on your network. The client cannot merely file open to a TV connected flash drive, it has to reach back to the server in order to request something to play. The server then would do any converting of DTS to AC3 needed before streaming to the client There is an app called SamyGO which allows you to network share TV connected USB drives, but I'm not sure that works with a 2018/19 TVs. However, you would probably be better to just stick your flash drive into the server than go through all that. hardeyes 1
Thank you very much for the explanation. I am very new to this and am just now starting to understand how all this works. That was a tremendous help as I now know what road I need to travel down. I am on it. Thanks again!!
