My HD Homerun 4 tuner device MODEL: HDHR5-4DT always used to work fine but various updates in past few weeks to various Emby apps.

 

Firmware is latest: 20190621

 

Emby Server version: 4.2.1.0

 

Here is what I am getting now:

 

1. On some MPEG2 (SD) TV channels, getting "No compatible streams available" in Emby Theatre and Web app. Other MPEG2 channels (SD) that do display are transcoded when previously they would be shown "direct". The settings are on AUTO. An example TV channel was "DRAMA" which is DVB-T and SD MPEG2. Other DVB-T MPEG2 channels were shown albeit with transcoding. On ROKU, channels display Ok (HD and SD) and not transcoded BUT the channel that says no compatible streams (DRAMA) says "HTTP Error may be malformed request/header" on the ROKU.On android mobile Emby app, I get a spinning wheel when an affected channel is shown like DRAMA

2. LG App 1.17 just displays black screen on affected channel DRAMA

3. HD Channels using MPEG4 are recording content to Synology Server, but Emby Theatre + web client shows spinning wheel. ROKU, LG app and Android are fine and "direct".

 

  • Nothing strange about Synology DS2415+ NAS server in terms of "fiddling". Standard Emby installation. No errors on any upgrades applied either OS or Emby.
  • This was working and in DIRECT mode without transcode for LG App and Emby Theatre.
  • Android Mobile Emby app IS using "Direct" on SD and HD channels, but is affected on some channels like DRAMA by the no compatible stream (just masked as a spinning wheel).
  • I have done a retune of HD HomeRun (signal is 100% and quality) and done a Refresh Guide data task. Using Emby TV guide data.
  • With exception of the Android Mobile Emby app and ROKU, all the others apps are on wired CAT7 cables to NAS.
  • the HD Homerun app shows ALL channels (whether wired on PC, or WIFI from Android HD Homerun App).

Hi there, please attach the complete emby server and ffmpeg log. thanks.

 

OK first off, here are the logs for when I play the DRAMA channel, which is MPEG2 and DVB-T.

 

This is in Emby Theatre App and I get the "No compatible streams" dialogue, even though other MPEG2 SD DVB-T channels play (albeit insisting on transcoding instead of DIRECT)

This is an HDHR model that has the dlna features, right?

Yes it has dlna but don't use that in Emby.
