download VS synchronize

Hi there

 

can you explain what is the difference between downloading and synchronize option for a video ? 

 

as I test both options :

 

• file synchronized apprears in DOWNLOAD AND SYNC in emby server parameters.

a temp folder is created, the file is pushed in it and then the sync start.

when it's done file in temp folder is deleted but not the folder.

 

if I remove download from DOWNLOAD AND SYNC in emby server parameters, the deletion is pushed over the device and the file do not longer exist on it and the folder is deleted in the temp folder.

 

• file downloaded also appears in DOWNLOAD AND SYNC in emby server parameters

So i think that syncing option let the admin to manage push / deletion on any device whereas downloading is only managed by user but for downloading why the previous downloading appears on the DOWNLOAD AND SYNC page ? I don't understand the purpose.

 

Am I right ? why the two options ?

I confirm that, after deleting my download from server dashboard, delete file has been pushed over my device. so yes this is exactly the same
