manicjonah 1
Are there plans for allowing plugins in MB3? I'm interested in adding ROKU like functionality to MB3 so I can cut my cable tv. Things like (Roku/Plex) channels, Aereo TV, USTVNow, etc. would put MB3 over the top. Currently I'm tinkering with a Plex install because of this. I like a lot about it but have been a Media Browser user for years and am not ready to walk away yet.
Solution techywarrior 688 Posted May 29, 2014 Solution Share Posted May 29, 2014 Specific "channels" (USATVNow, FoxNow, Hulu, etc.) would be up to any developers who would like to create them as well as the availability of APIs to interface with those things. BUT, the ability of MB3 to have "channels" like this is coming soon.
Koleckai Silvestri 1150
You can already add plugins. The developer versions of the server and web client currently support Channels which would do what you want. You can see the code for many current plugins here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.Plugins If you look at Trailers, Vimeo, Twitch and Revision3, you can see how Channels are supposed to operate. There is also a Channel API. Edited May 29, 2014 by Wayne Luke
ebr 14855
Both the server and MBC have an extensive plug-in architecture. See here.
