What are a couple of examples of the names of some of the collections you created manually?  Also, by "manually" you mean with the web interface, correct?

Also when did you last delete the collections library from emby library setup?

FYI

I stopped using collections since last year.
I’ve been running almost every Mac beta version since (now on .30)
Auto Box plugin is installed and on all the time so I had many collections created.
Last time I checked collections (few months back) it was working, when I checked today there are no more collections.
So all collections disappeared although I didn’t try to manually edit or add anything to it.

For instance I have had for a long time a collection of all marvel movie that I made and suddenly it was gone. Yes I created them manually in the web app.

Exactly what did you name it?

I'm trying to find a reference to it in the log.

Thanks.

Okay, yes, I can see that item being removed from the database during the scan.  Not sure why.

Thanks.

It removes all of the Collections during the scan, but it cannot replace the manually created or Custom Collections afterwards. I can give you any number of logs that show this - happens every day since .33 (I think)

@ebr @Luke, if you are going to persist with deleting and refreshing all of the Collections every day, then I suggest you add an "Auto" or "Custom" flag to the appropriate Collection .xml so that you an then disregard the "Custom" Collections for your refresh activity.

Getting very tired of re-creating Custom or Manual Collections only to have them deleted the next day.

thanks

Please try removing the AutoBoxSets plugin and see if that has an impact. Thanks.

Does this folder exist?

C:\Users\scott\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\data\collections\300 Collection [boxset]

Also if you click on the collections library in emby library setup, does the library editor popup show the folder for the library and allow editing?

It does not show the folder like the other libraries do.

  • AutoBoxSets removed.
  • Emby (beta.35) restarted
  • Go to Movies page > click 3dot menu on 1 movie poster> Add to Collection > New > "Kids Movies"
  • Kids Movies Collection appears in Movies and Collections pages > Click Collection > added Movie poster is displayed
  • Edit Kids Movies Collection metadata and change Sort Title to "01 Kids Movies" to bring it to the top of each page for easy access
  • Go to Dashboard > Library > "Scan All Libraries"
  • RESULT - Kids Collection Disappears from Movies and Collection pages

???

EDIT: Just to add that the actual Boxset folder still exixts with the Collection.xml file still in it and the file contents appear to be correct. However, running a Library scan on the Collections Library does not restore the Kids movies Collection to the Movies and Collection pages. Should it?

2nd Edit: Running a Library scan on the Collection Library by itself, causes ALL Collections to disappear from the Collections Page. It also causes "Group Items Into Collections" to fail even though the Item is still checked on the Movies "Settings" page. A Restart of Emby does not correct this... All Boxset Folders are still where they should be.

3rd Edit: Re-install AutoBoxSets and running it brings back all of the Collections - Except for "Kids Movies". It also fixes "Group Items Into Collections" on the Movies page.

@Luke,  just had an idea. Maybe Emby is deleting Manually created collections because they don't have a TMDB Collection ID attached to them?

It also fixes "Group Items Into Collections" on the Movies page.

Just to clarify, this isn't true. The plugin has nothing to do with this.
