So, dvr news with no metadata, here's what I see in the Apple TV new stable release. I think what IOS shows is a lot better. At least fill in the boxes with something?

IOS shows a colored background, at least you can see the boxes, and shows the title in the box when there is no image. Best you can do I suppose with no other data. It's really hard to follow where you are on the screen otherwise. The web interface does the same as IOS. So, inconsistent.

These are default image placeholders on the tvOS platform. If you had no metadata for a move or music album you’d see something similar.

Surprisingly there’s no simple way to do what you ask and it wouldn’t fit in with the platform aesthetic.

You also mention it shows the title. There’s a possibility that the tvOS app is looking in the wrong spot for that and we could fix that. I’d have to see the actual metadata for the item. Can you provide that?

Here's what is in the nfo file, which pretty much matches the metadata. I am sure you can look in the IOS app to see what it shows, no?

Of course, it's a problem for show, season, and, episodes.

You can't have a default image?

Thanks for sharing the info I appreciate it!

You can't have a default image?

What you’re seeing is the default image on the tvOS platform. TV, Movies and Music all use the respective platform default images when there’s none in the metadata.

Maybe you can outline it better, put text in the boxes, whatever. Anything would be better than as is. As you noted, there is other content without metadata and I think it would help a lot of people. Obviously, not a massive issue. If there is anything else you need, please let me know.

An alternative of course is to edit images in emby and upload one. Then it shows just fine.

@@sfatula -- We released an update this morning that should show the title/name for the item now.

Awesome, will take a look when I get home. In Utah hiking.
