joydashy 3 Posted July 12, 2019 Share Posted July 12, 2019 I have a number of 4k HEVC files which are seemingly suddenly no longer able to play on several clients which cannot natively play HEVC. This requires pretty heavy transcoding, which worked fine last week, but not anymore now. I have not changed anything that I am aware of. Clients tried: Apple TV (non-4k) and Chrome browser. Unfortunately there's nothing obvious i can say here, other than it looks like your server just can't transcode this quickly enough to be playable. Certainly have rebooted it yes, no effect. And I have tried several clients now. Thanks for stating this again, of course this was the first thing I've been breaking my head over. Decided to go through everything again. Had recently lowered the resource settings for this LXC within Proxmox. Seems Emby container allocates a large amount of memory upon start of transcoding, it was reaching this cap. Would be cool if this could somehow be detected and logged in the server log, but not sure if possible? Regardless, thanks for the support!
