chef 3744
Nvidia Quadro K4000 I found a good deal on one, but when I look at the Nvidia web site the line that explains this card is blocked out. If this does use nvenc, will this help my server be better? Thanks to anyone who can let me know.
Guest asrequested
That's not a simple yes or no. What are you throwing at it? Have you looked at the matrix? https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix
lorac 100
For H264 it might help somewhat. Consider the card was launched six years ago so i wouldn't expect that much. A P4000 would be better in most cases but it does depend what you need to transcode. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
chef 3744
P4000 are a bit pricey. Are there any gtx models that could be recommended for nvenc? I did see that matrix website but the k4000 line was blacked out. Edited July 7, 2019 by chef
Guest asrequested
You'd be ok with a GTX 1050. And if you need more than two simultaneous transcodes, use the patch to unlock it.
Guest asrequested
I actually have a GTX 1060 laying around that I'm going to sell.
chef 3744
Would you interested in pm'ing me the details of that card? Would a 1650 also be a good choice?

Happy2Play 8139
Must be a device limitation or something as I don't see those blackouts on my desktop.
lorac 100
Click on the Quadro button at the bottom. You won't get any H265 support with that card. You want a card built on the Pascal engine. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk

lorac 100
Quadro P4000. If you're interested in a lower cost option I believe there's a hack you can use on the GeForce 10 series cards to allow more than two playback streams as well.

Sammy 735
I went with a GTX 1660 and it works alright. I haven't yet hacked it to have more sessions. Emby will use the CPU after the two sessions are used up. Works great for me [emoji3] How much is such card? lorac 100
one would assume there are multiple types. I'd check ebay. Off the top of my head i'm guessing somewhere around $150 vs. $550 or so for the P4000.
